business has achieved a localized technology through
design, manufacturing, installation of Korean-standard
1000MW nuclear and 500MW fossil steam turbines, and
recently Doosan is recognized as the world class player
supplying completed D11 steam turbines to General Electric
company.
Meeting the demand for high efficient/capacity power
plants to make up the shortage of natural resources,
limited area to build power plants and environmental
regulation. Doosan, through a joint development effort
with GE, has developed new designs and technologies
to increase the capacity and efficiency of turbines
and generators and successfully supplied them to the
800MW Yonghung Thermal Power Plant 1 & 2.
With the technological capability to develop a steam
turbine generator for 1000MW rating Ultra-Super Critical
power plants and by the experience of having supplied
Korean-standard 1,000MW nuclear steam turbine generator,
Doosan was selected as the main contractor for the
government funded G7 project, which is to supply the
turbines and generators for the next-generation 1,400MW
light water nuclear power plant (APR1400) currently
under development. |
